  • How to make reservations? Fill out the reservation request form here or send us a WhatsApp message at +91 9323708809 with your name, number of people, dates, accommodation type (Room/Bunk Beds/Tent), and room preference (subject to availability). We’ll respond with availability and cost within 24 hours. Confirm your booking with a 50% advance payment to receive confirmation via email.

About Native Place

  • Is this a resort? / Is this place for me? Native Place is a guesthouse, offering a tranquil alternative to resort culture. It’s a purpose-built, self-service sanctuary inspired by the home gardens of Western India and the forest gardens of Kerala. Our ethos, deeply rooted in self-reliance and sustainability, involves growing some of our own food, medicinal plants, dyes, firewood, and building materials. With limited staff, we foster an intimate, community-oriented environment that encourages guests to immerse themselves in our sustainable practices.

Access and Location

  • How to get there?
    Private Transport: We are 3 hours from Mumbai and 1 hour from Pune. Follow the map to Native Place from Kamshet town. Parking is available.
    Public Transport: Take a train or bus to Kamshet. From Kamshet railway station or the bus stand, take an auto rickshaw to Native Place.

Amenities

  • Is the tariff inclusive of meals? Yes, it includes lunch, dinner, and breakfast. Additional tea and snacks are charged extra.
  • Are there ACs? (Extra charge) AC is available in specific rooms with an extra daily charge.
  • Is WiFi available? Yes, WiFi is available in the main house. For high-speed internet, please bring your own dongle.
  • Are there power outages? Power outages occur occasionally, but we have inverters and a generator to keep you comfortable.
  • Is the cellphone network connectivity good? Yes, Airtel, Jio, and BSNL work well in this area.
  • Is there hot water for showers? Yes, hot water is available at certain timings during the day.

  • Is room service available? No, room service is not provided.
  • Do you offer transport services? No, we do not. However, we do provide contacts for local private transport.

Activities and Extras

  • What are the food options? Our menu features pan-Indian flavors with local cuisine accents. Our garden provides fresh produce. We serve simple, nutritious vegetarian and non-vegetarian Indian meals. Our pre-set buffet includes chicken once daily and a sweet dish with lunch. Enjoy homemade pickles, pestos, chutneys, and sauces.
  • What activities do you offer? We offer garden tours, paragliding joyrides, short hikes, and waterfall visits during the monsoon. Guests can also enjoy board games, birdwatching, and self-guided tours with discovery cards. More details are available upon booking. We occasionally host events as well.
  • Do you offer corporate packages? Yes. Please write to us for curated corporate packages.

Stay and Safety

  • Is this place suitable for a longer stay/workcation? Yes, we have rooms with workspaces, or you can work in common areas with WiFi access.
  • Is it safe? Yes, the area is safe for guests.

Group and Event Bookings

  • Can we book large groups and hold our own events? Yes, we welcome family outings, friends, and corporate groups. We can customise menus and provide support with prior discussion.

Pet Policy

  • Is the place pet-friendly? What is the pet policy? Yes, we are pet-friendly. Bring your pet’s bedding, food, and utensils. Ensure your pet doesn’t disturb other guests. Clean up after your pet. Pets should not be allowed on guesthouse furniture or beds and must be on a leash in common areas.
